Ok, so I have beef with the Twilight series. I started reading it because it seemed EVERYONE on the internet was writing about it, and then YOU started writing about it, and I thought, ok, I'm in.

I'll admit I read the first book over the course of one weekend, though through the romance (?) things were irking me. Now, I'm in the middle of Book 2, and I feel like I just can not finish it.

I don't understand the obsession with this series! I don't need every YA book to be full of positive messages and multiple layers, but the Twilight series is ridiculous in how it is lacking!

What's up with Bella having almost no personality besides how perfect she thinks Edward is? Why is Edward always telling her she is silly, clumsy, stupid, naive? (and frankly, why is the heroine of this book ever anything OTHER than silly, clumsy, stupid, and naive?) Why is ANGER ("furious") the most often used emotion in the book, with little depth, but lots of positive reaction to it (Bella seems to thrive on Edward's fury). Where is there any depth to any relationship anywhere?

Sorry, I had to get out my feelings about this. It's been bothering me all week! Hope you don't mind that I hijacked your comments to write about it :)

On a seperate note, I just read Meyer's reaction to the leak, and I think she handled that very well. That's tough for her, and I'm sorry it happened.

I'm so sad about this leak too. Alas.

I love Joke's comment. I know what she's saying...and I agree...and yet, I LOVED THEM.

The leak is sad. And, like you, I'm going to try to not read it. I'll wait for SM to calm down and finish the book!

I was a bit upset about the MS leak as well. Must admit I already read it, and it is fabulous!!! (Better than BD which I did like but it's still better.) I think the reason I am not that upset is that I am somehow convinced that SM will finish the book, after she has done some moping. She'll get over it eventually and I think from what I've read about her, she's too attached to the series not to finish the book. I can understand she's upset, but to be honest I don't think her reaction is very professional, but anyway, she had better finish that book because it really is going to be great!

Wow, I didn't even know she was planning on releasing Midnight Sun for real. Alas, I will have to content myself with the current 246 pages. And The Host, which I inadvertently bought in large print and am embarrassed to read in public.

I haven't even finished Twilight, let alone the entire "saga" so...yeah, I probably won't make it to The Host. It sounds stupid anyway. LOL

Man vs. Wild was staged? How did I not know this? Also, I haven't jumped on the Twilight train yet. But I am going to order the books off Amazon right now.
